Together They Lay Down in Dust

Job 21:23-26 – 23 “One dies in his full strength, Being wholly at ease and satisfied; 24 His sides are filled out with fat, And the marrow of his bones is moist, 25 While another dies with a bitter soul, Never even tasting anything good. 26 “Together they lie down in the dust, And worms cover them.
Currently, we at Journey of Faith are studying the Book of Ecclesiastes. It is a powerful book written by a powerful and successful man — King Solomon. With all of the riches that he had gained and land he had acquired, he looked back on his life and realized that it all meant nothing to him. He viewed this world as being empty. More specifically, he viewed his life as being empty.
In today’s passage, we are told that those that die satisfied and those that die bitter have the same end, “Together they lie down in the dust, And worms cover them.”  Solomon, at the end of his life realized that nothing was meaningful without God. Our journeys in this life may all be very different — some will be filled with great joy, while others will be filled with much sorrow. But, we will all have one thing in common, we will all lie down in the dust. Regardless of the path your life has taken, remember that all is meaningless without God. As we read in Job, in the end, it won’t matter what you possessed in life if you first didn’t possess the Lord in your heart.
I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
