The King is Weeping

2 Samuel 19:1-2 – 19 And Joab was told, “Behold, the king is weeping and mourning for Absalom.” So the victory that day was turned into mourning for all the people. For the people heard it said that day, “The king is grieved for his son.”

Reading this passage today, I was struck with a thought — how did God feel as Jesus hung on the cross? We focus so much on Jesus at Easter (rightfully so), but I think we glance over the emotions that God must have been experiencing. Yes, He knew that Jesus would rise and that Jesus was victorious, but imagine the how it must have felt to see His Son suffer. Never think for a second that your life is not worth anything to God. Both He and His Son, Jesus, endured great suffering so that you could be saved. You are worth more to God and Jesus than you could ever imagine. Rejoice and give thanks that you are worth the King’s weeping.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
