Rest

Hebrews 3:7-11 – Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, In the day of trial in the wilderness, Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, And saw My works forty years. 10 Therefore I was angry with that generation, And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, And they have not known My ways.’ 11 So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”

I often hear people state that they are tired and are in need of rest. They sleep a lot, they lay on the couch, but regardless of what they do, they just can’t seem to get the rest that they need. Why? Because they are look in the wrong place for the rest that their body needs. True, meaningful rest can only come through a relationship with Jesus. It is the rest that is not defined by sleep but the sense of knowing that regardless of what tomorrow brings, the Lord is still in control. The Bible warns that if we do not look to Jesus for the rest we desire, we will never find it. If you are not getting the rest you need, are you looking in the right place for it?

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
