Deja Vu

2 Kings 13:5-6 – Then the Lord gave Israel a deliverer, so that they escaped from under the hand of the Syrians; and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents as before. Nevertheless they did not depart from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who had made Israel sin, but walked in them; and the wooden image also remained in Samaria.

As I do my daily reading, I note which scriptures I have used for devotions. As I was doing my reading this morning, I read this passage which I have used previously for a devotion. Without the note in my Bible, quite honestly, I would have not remembered using this scripture.

In today’s message we read that Israel “did not depart from the sins of the house of Jeroboam”. For Israel it was “Deja Vu” all over again. They sin, they suffer the consequences, they repent and God delivers.  The same can be said for our walks. Regardless of how often we read the Bible, if we do not remember it and practice it, we will find ourselves in the same “Deja Vu” as Israel. Learn from your mistakes, learn from Israel’s mistakes. Don’t let “deja vu” be your story.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
