An Old Friend on the Radio

1 Timothy 6:12 – 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

While changing stations on my radio today, I accidentally landed on a local station. Before I could switch channels, I recognized the DJ’s voice as Rick Dees who was the biggest “voice” in radio for years. I listened for a little and began to hear the familiar sketches, routines and personalities he used to do so many years ago. It was good to hear his voice and laugh at the things I used to laugh at when I was younger. Times have changed, but he has remained the same.

In 1 Timothy 6:12 we are told to “fight the good fight of faith”.  I think Rick Dees reminded me today that our walks must be like his show – consistent. Regardless of how many years we have been walking with the Lord, regardless of how times have changed, we are called to be consistent in our faith. No matter how long it has been since people have seen us, they should see the same qualities and traits they saw long ago.

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
