A New Covenant

Hebrews 9:15 – 15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

Christians often talk about being in covenant with Christ. What does that mean? More importantly, what is the covenant? To begin, to be in covenant with Christ essentially means that we have entered into an “agreement” or “contract” by which we agree to follow God’s Word and act in a way that will honor and serve the Lord. In other words, we agree to uphold our end of the agreement. So, what is the Lord’s component of the Covenant? His covenant is a covenant of promise — a promise of salvation for those call Him Father and honor Him with their words and actions. Christ’s promise is available to you today, it is up to you to make the choice.
