10,000 Reasons

1 Samuel 29:5 – Is this not David, of whom they sang to one another in dances, saying: ‘Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands’?”

It is easy to look at people on TV or in a magazine and wish we were like them. If we were that attractive, successful or powerful, we could do so many great things for the Lord! We look at these “perfect” people in the media, look at ourselves, and feel very inadequate.  Would you be surprised to know that the more imperfect you are, the more the Lord can use you?

In today’s verse, King Saul and David are compared. Saul had “slain his thousands”. But young David, “his ten thousands”. Throughout history, God has made a habit of using imperfect people to do great things. In fact, except for Jesus, God has never used a perfect person because they don’t exist. It seems the more broken and imperfect, the greater things that God can do through us. If you cannot think of one reason why God would use you, remember David’s 10,000 reasons. Your imperfections are made perfect in Him!

I pray for blessings today for you on your Journey!
